Mechanical properties of sandstone under hydro-mechanical coupling

Abstract Study of mechanical properties rock under hydro-mechanical coupling. The MTS815 mechanics system is used to perform triaxial compression tests water-saturated sandstones different confining pressures and pore water pressures. results show that the peak deviation stress its corresponding axial strain, residual stress, initial dilation deformation modulus sandstone are related pressure pressure. They decrease with increase Poisson’s ratio angle rupture Based on effective principle Mohr–Coulomb criterion, cohesion 11.49 3.13 MPa, respectively, internal friction 38.32° 25.32°, respectively. In addition, according variation relationship strength, relative strength criterion coupling established.
